Historic First International Conference on Men’s Issues going ahead in Detroit, Michigan

The first international conference on Men's Issues is going ahead in Detroit, Michigan despite plenty of opposition from radical feminists. The opposition included death threats to conference attendees, hotel staff, and other guests at the DoubleTree hotel, prompting a
change in venue to the VFW Post 1146 Walter F Bruce at 28404 Jefferson Avenue in Saint Clair Shores, a suburb of Detroit.

Paul Elam discusses the upcoming conference, the struggles to pull it together, and more on June 17, 2014 at 7 PM.

This conference features an all-star line-up of experts, activists, and academics who will discuss a wide variety of issues affecting men today. The speakers list includes Erin Pizzey, UK author and founder of the Women's Shelter movement, Dr. Warren Farrell, US author of the Myth of Male Power, Senator Anne Cools from Canada, psychology professor Dr Miles Groth, and much more. Click here for a full list of speakers.

Several of the presenters spoke at the 2014 Domestic Violence symposium in Toronto on June 6, but the Detroit conference will cover a wider variety of topics. These are powerful, passionate and knowledgeable speakers, and you can get a preview of their work from the 2014 DV conference in these videos.

Don't miss this conference, and bring your questions to tonights (June 17) Hangout On Air with Paul Elam.
